Anxious? Check Out Some Useful Stress Relieving Techniques

Life as we know it can be overwhelming and stressful at times. Take it from me, ex-professional stressor. Maybe you have finals coming up, someone close to you is ill, or maybe there is just too many things on your plate at once. It is all perfectly normal, but by sneaking in some de-stressing, your everyday life will improve significantly.

Why so stressed?

The first step is always to understand what is exactly stressing you. The National Institute of Mental Health definition of stress is “the brain’s response to any demand,”. Sometimes it’s painfully obvious what that is, other times not so much. Try pinpointing what it is that is stressing you, and you’ll see that the stress is more tangible and easier to comprehend.

Proper “me” time

I can’t stress this one enough. Section off an hour of each day for yourself. This special time investment is dedicating for you to do literally whatever you want. It’ll do wonders for you.

Get your blood pumping

Find some regular exercise that can get you blood pumping. Maybe it’s time to hit up that local gym or go for a run in the park. It is actually scientifically proven that swimming, hiking, and biking reduce stress


Try yoga or meditate. If this is new and unfamiliar to you, no worries.  Just roll out that mat on your bedroom floor and try streaming yoga lessons on youtube. “Yoga with Adriene” is my personal favorite, she is a lovely human being that helps you relax. Maybe you should try “30 days of yoga” to challenge yourself?

Have Sex

Besides the fact that sex feels nice, your brain releases serotonin, oxytocin, and dopamine during an orgasm – all good chemicals that make you feel amazing. But remember to avoid pregnancy scares which definitely don’t help your stress levels. Find contraception that works for you and makes your love making less worrisome.
